Who better to speak of the earth than the earth itself?

Since last fall, I have been working with earth—the red earth of the Native Americans that I brought back from Winston-Salem (North Carolina, USA), as well as the earth from here.

What a great pleasure I take in kneading it, caressing it, to combine it with bark, leaves, ash, charcoal, or other elements found here, at home, in Europe. Sometimes I also work it roughly with my trowel before finally stopping and, delighted, contemplating the new image created.

Next November, I would like to present these latest works—canvases and papers—as well as the book-object: “The words“.

These works reflect an awareness of the state of our planet.
