The wall at Kreuzberg

1989-90

In April 1984, two French friends, Thierry Noir and Christophe Bouchet, painted the first painting on the west side of the Wall in bright colors. At the time, the Wall was still gray and boring, and the painting “Homage to Lafontaine” and others were created.

In the Wim Wenders film, “Das Himmel über Berlin” (1987). From then on, more and more people dared to paint paintings and graffiti on the western part of the Berlin Wall in the Kreuzberg district.
